Suspect CO?
If the presence of CO is indicated by an alarm or any of the danger signs listed here, then take action immediately:
- Evacuate the affected area, moving yourself and others into fresh air.
- Seek medical assistance if required: Go to your GP or call 111 for the NHS non-emergency contact line, which is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. If the situation is urgent and numerous people have been affected, call 999 for an ambulance and the fire brigade.
- Ventilate the affected area by opening all doors and windows.
- If possible, shut off the gas supply or appliances: call Gas Emergency Service (24 hours) on 0800 111 999.
